* Seasons’ greetings friends,
I had some big plans for my Christmas. You see, I had wanted to make a full story for you all. There was a nearly-finished script and everything! And Toby was there, but I couldn’t figure out what he was doing there. Unfortunately, I never got to know, because Father Christmas sent an early gift my way: COVID-19. In exchange, he took my voice, my motivation, and a few other things. I have been most upset about that.
However, in some ways, that dilemma has proven somewhat poetic. Thomas hadn’t been feeling too happy either, which is unusual for our tank engine around this time of year. Like me, he had arrangements made for Christmas, but even those arrangements fell through – he didn’t collect the tree for the big station, or the carollers from Ffarquhar! The Fat Controller gave Thomas a new coat of paint to cheer him up. The colours he chose are colours you may be familiar with, but all the same, Thomas didn’t feel much winter spirit.
“Well,” said Edward when he heard the news, “we can’t have that. Listen, all,” he beckoned around Tidmouth Sheds, waking Gordon from his sleep, and interrupting James’s boasting, “this is what we’ll do…”

And here we are. A short and stumpy video, for our favourite short and stumpy tank engine. It mightn’t be the video I had wanted, and perhaps it wasn’t the video you were all expecting either, but I’ve done my best to make do and perhaps you’ll like it for what it is.
