We celebrated the opening of our special exhibition "Oscar yi Hou: East of sun, west of moon" with the artist and members of his creative community, artists Amanda Ba and Sasha Gordon, who also appear as sitters in his paintings. At a time of heightened violence against Asian communities across the United States, yi Hou questions what it means to be “Asian American” and who is considered “American.” The program is moderated by Eugenie Tsai, John and Barbara Vogelstein Senior Curator, Contemporary Art.
