Feb. 25, 2026 | Asian elephants Linh Mai and Swarna explore the Elephant Community Center together.
"Auntie" Swarna displays just the right balance of “maternal care” along with giving Linh Mai some independence. Lately, they have been exploring the Elephant Community Center together. Linh Mai has a blast running all over the habitat, splashing through the pool and trumpeting in excitement. Swarna, who is around 52 years old, does her best to keep up with Linh Mai—who is a bundle of energy! She gives the calf room to explore while staying close enough to keep an eye on her.
