Markus Berger is an artist, designer, writer, researcher and, above all, an educator. He is a registered architect (SBA, Netherlands) and the founder and director of The Repair Atelier, a collaborative space dedicated to creatively rethinking and reusing discarded and damaged materials, objects and spaces. Berger’s work critically examines repair, the circular economy and waste streams as both a conceptual framework and a practical method for innovative reuse, responsible remaking and sustainable transformation of everyday environments.

The Repair Atelier is imagined as a collaborative space (artists, designers, engineers, repairers and the community) to rethink and reuse discarded and broken objects, transform them and in the process 'repair' not just objects but also the communities that form around them.

Clara Lieu was an Adjunct Professor at the Rhode Island School of Design from 2007-2020. Her artwork has been exhibited at the International Print Center NY, the Currier Museum, Childs Gallery, the Davis Museum, and more. Lieu received an artist fellowship from the MA Cultural Council, has written for the NY Times, and lectured at Brown University, the NAEA conference, and in Vancouver & China.
