British WWII cemetery in Cassino Italy. In 2004, our Polish group of veterans and their families who fought in Italy went to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the end of the Battle of Monte Cassino. Before we went to the Polish cemetery, we first went to the British cemetery. Apart from veterans from Great Britain and Poland. There were also veterans from different parts of the world. It was probably the last such celebration with the participation of so many veterans. Every year, more and more of them are decreasing. I was glad that I was able to be there. It was a great experience for me. A large group of Polish children also came to Cassino. They represent schools named after the heroes of the fight for Monte Cassino. They took part in the ceremonies where Poles were represented.
