With my current EV lease coming to an end later this year, I’m looking closely at what could replace it. So rather than trying to cover absolutely everything at the show, I spent much of my time getting inside the latest EVs, checking out their interiors, technology, practicality and build quality.
In this video I share my first impressions and hot takes from the show floor, including the Ford Puma Gen-E, Mustang Mach-E, Honda Super-N, Alpine A290, Renault 5, Nissan Micra, Renault Twingo, Hyundai IONIQ 3, Aion UT and the surprisingly impressive Leapmotor B05.
I also checked out the new Linktour Alumi and Alumi Pro, BYD's latest models and its luxury Denza brand.
Some impressed me. Some felt disappointingly cheap. And one Chinese EV in particular was much better inside than I expected.
These are only my first impressions from spending a short amount of time with each car rather than full reviews, but the show gave me a much better idea of which upcoming EVs deserve a closer look.
