The Dartmouth Libraries conservation unit is responsible for repairing damaged library materials, as well as carrying out preventive measures such as deacidification, creating protective enclosures, and performing environmental monitoring on the library stacks. Conservation treatments generally fall into one of two categories: general collections repair and non-circulating collections repair.
