Hbomberguy reference anyone? 😏 This audio kept playing over and over in my head while I was looking through some old con videos last month because I just kept thinking: "dang, we really did have fun back then."
Imo, cosplay has always been about encouraging joy, creativity and artistic self-expression. Anime cons were always seen as a safe place for people who were never given the freedom to talk about or share their interests growing up. Seeing people now spinning that into "cringe culture" is just dumb and sad to me, like wow yeah god forbid people enjoy themselves and be nerdy at an anime convention. 🙄😑 Anywayyyy, here's me in 2017 being Cringe But So Very Free dancing to PSY as Tracer. 🤪🫶
