Pa. state Rep. Tim Briggs urged colleagues to vote on his resolution to commemorate the 50th anniversary of Valley Forge National Historical Park.
Briggs says that it’s important to stand in recognition of the place where Washington's Continental Army endured one of the darkest chapters of the Revolutionary War, as a reminder that the freedoms we enjoy today came at an extraordinary cost. The site was established as a National Historical Park in 1976 after serving as Pennsylvania's first state Park for nearly 100 years.
