Our security cannot be taken for granted. The invasion of Ukraine has exposed shortcomings that the Government must quickly address. The balance of global power is shifting to the nationalistic BRICS and our armed forces need reform. We must relearn urgently lessons from the Second World War. In the next conflict, we may not be so lucky.
