One of the great things we get to do with our channel is talk to interesting people. And....being on our Big Gay Road Trip, we are reaching places and talking we have always wanted to see...like Brian Sims, Pennsylvania State Representative for the 182 district. Sims was the first LGBT person to be elected to office and he is an outspoken advocate for the community as well as a ferocious legislator. He has only been in office a few months and is already making headlines.....so I wanted to pick his brain on the challenges of being out in office...to being censured on the house floor by arch conservatives and STILL making his voice heard...to what he thinks about The same-sex marriage licenses being issued to gay couples in Pennsylvania in spite of a constitutional ban. Plus.....Brian has lots of admirers and we all want to know how he finds time for love and a personal life? Inquiring minds want to know!
All kidding aside....Brian was an easy going, natural guy with a great sense of humor and a razor sharp mind. He was a lot of fun to talk to.....and made me blush more than once. Check it out!

So last week I got to meet one of my favorite LGBT families as they were passing through Philadelphia on a "Big Gay Road Trip!" Lucky for me, Bryan Leffew then asked me to sit for a series of interviews and they just put the first one up on their You Tube page.
Here I am talking with Bryan about my first 6 months in office, the Victory Fund & Institute, Equality Pennsylvania, the Liberty City LGBT Democratic Club, my colleagues, marriage equality, the Pennsylvania State Capitol Building, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and more...
Thanks for a fun time, Leffews!
