The Royal Society has produced a new set of videos and resources, presented by Professor Brian Cox and Dame Maggie Aderin-Pocock, based around new and emerging STEM technologies. In this video, Maggie joins a teacher demonstrating a plastics and sustainability classroom activity, including set-up, demonstration and the experiment being taught with a secondary age science class. This video links to two others in the series, where we visit a plastic-based industry location and a research laboratory. You can find the full video series in our YouTube playlist: youtube.com/playlist?list=PLg7f-TkW11iWfwGLyWTZGlUiFfFYShyeu and free accompanying resources on the Royal Society website: royalsociety.org/schoolexperiments #BrianCoxSchoolExperiments
This activity is based on an original activity, designed by the BBC, for the Terrific Scientific series, who have kindly agreed to its use in the Royal Society Brian Cox School Experiments.
The Royal Society is a Fellowship of many of the world's most eminent scientists and is the oldest scientific academy in continuous existence.
