Brian Carn is officially in federal custody.
After months of controversy, court proceedings, public statements, and questions about whether he would actually report to prison, reports now confirm that Prophet Brian Carn surrendered on **August 14, 2026**, to begin serving his **nine-month federal prison sentence**. He is reportedly being housed at **FCI Bennettsville in South Carolina**.
Carn’s legal troubles stem from his guilty plea to obstructing the IRS as it attempted to collect hundreds of thousands of dollars in unpaid federal taxes. According to the Department of Justice, Carn’s conduct caused a tax loss to the United States estimated between **$550,000 and $1.5 million**.
Earlier this year, Carn was sentenced to nine months in federal prison. His original surrender date was June 15, but a federal judge later granted him additional time, ultimately moving his surrender date to August 14. During this entire process, Carn drew considerable attention because of previous public comments suggesting that he did not believe he would ultimately end up behind bars.

This is bigger than simply watching the downfall of a popular preacher. When ministers publicly preach about integrity, obedience, righteousness, giving, finances, and accountability, those same standards must apply to the people standing behind the pulpit. Fame, influence, followers, prophetic claims, or a large ministry platform do not place anyone above accountability.
There should also be room for repentance and restoration. Going to prison does not mean a person is beyond God’s grace. But biblical repentance requires honesty about wrongdoing, accepting consequences, and genuine change—not simply spiritualizing every controversy or dismissing legitimate criticism.
