Brett Ratliff performs Little Birdie, citing many East Kentucky influences for this traditional old-time tune... “It’s kind of a mesh up of several versions of Little Birdie that I’ve heard over the years. I think about Morgan Sexton when I think about that tune. I think about Roscoe Holcomb when I think about that tune. I think about Ralph Stanley when I think about that tune. All of those players from back home had slightly different takes on the same song, some of ‘em drastically different takes on the same song. And that one was mine.” Performed live at Deep End Sessions, April 21, 2018. Directed by David Bunn; Audio by Stephen Schauer; Cameras by Stephen Schauer, Alex Blair, Cody Edison, Julie Cabral; Edited by Alex Blair & David Bunn. Full Concert Film with Betse & Clarke, coming soon. © Deep End Sessions 2019
