But among those legends is a voice that has become almost impossible to escape every Christmas. A voice that has been heard by generations of families around the world.That voice belongs to Brenda Lee.She was only 13 years old when she recorded the song in 1958, never knowing it would eventually become one of the most recognizable Christmas songs ever made. But behind the music, the fame, and a career that stretched across generations… there was simply a place she called home. And today, that home sits mostly quiet.
This sprawling mansion once belonged to Brenda Lee and her family, and walking through it feels like stepping into a side of her life the public rarely got to see. Family photographs still hang on the walls. Furniture remains throughout the rooms. Personal belongings, awards, decorations, and memories from decades of life are still scattered around the property. But since January, the house has remained largely vacant. Her grandson now stays here to watch over the property, and he gave us the rare opportunity to step inside and document it before things inevitably begin to change. And what makes this place so fascinating isn’t that it’s abandoned — because it isn’t.
