~ MINI-ROUND FAQ~
Can I complete the challenges in any order?
Yes, during the mini-round you can complete the challenges in any order you wish.
If I miss or don't finish The Great Plateau mini-round, will I still be able to participate in The Quest main-rounds?
Yes, absolutely! You'll also have a chance to participate in The Great Plateau 3.5 round if you missed out on the opportunity to obtain the Glider Perk (or you could do the mini-round in your own time), but this is an entirely optional perk.
What perks are able to be used in the mini-rounds?
The horse perk (obtained by completing 3 bonus challenges in a main-round), which allows you to start any BOTWathon readathon before the official start date.
1 horse: start 2 days early
2 horses: start 4 days early
Team perks and the glider perk are only able to be used during main-rounds.
Are there any bonus challenges in The Great Plateau #1.5?
No. If you finish all 3 reading challenges and have time to read more, you could do some of the Great Plateau #0.5 or #1.5 reading challenges! botwathon.com/past-challenges

Do I need to sign up to join?
Nope, the only thing you need to do to join is read! We have a Discord community and post on Twitter & Instagram, so that you can chat with other warriors there, but this is absolutely not necessary to take part.
What formats can I read?
Anything counts! Re-reads, graphic novels, audiobooks, manga, you name it.
Can I continue reading a book I already started before the readathon starts?
Technically no, but we won’t be monitoring this.
Can I read one book for multiple prompts?
You cannot double up on reading challenges for a book – one book applies for one challenge.
What are reading sprints / how can I participate in one?
Reading sprints are a set period of time where we focus solely on reading. We may run sprint sessions on Twitter, Instagram Live, Youtube or in the Discord server. They can be any length, though we will often run sprints from between 10 and 60 minutes long. It’s easy to participate, all you need to do is pick up a book during any of the set times announced by the host of a reading sprint - feel free to host one yourself!
Who can participate / do I have to have played BOTW to join?
Anyone can join!
You don’t have to have played the game before, but if you plan on playing and don’t like to know the general storyline of the game beforehand, this may not be the readathon for you. We don’t spoil any secrets of the game, but do follow the main premise and take inspiration from various elements of the game.
You also don’t need to participate in previous rounds in order to join one in the future.
