For years, Jeshua Pearson kept his story to himself. Growing up with a father living with schizophrenia, he witnessed firsthand how mental illness can impact an entire family and how stigma can keep people from talking about it.

St. Louis journalist Aisha Sultan sits down with Pearson to discuss his journey, why he chose to share his experience, and the importance of creating space for honest conversations around mental health. Schizophrenia affects an estimated 1 in 100 Americans, yet it remains one of the most misunderstood mental health conditions.
