Today AWP found a Silver 2009 Nissan Versa, License Plate: 8B EF732 driven by 16-year-old Matthew Jedediah Hall who was last seen on January 22, 2018, in Idaho Falls, Idaho.
We began our search today, May 1st, 2022, at 9:00 A.M. assisted by Idaho Falls PD, and Jed's parents, Amy and Allen Hall at a local boat ramp near the last known cell phone ping 4-years ago.
It wasn't more than 20-minutes on the water before Jared and Josh identified a vehicle 50 feet from shore, 75 yards downstream from the boat ramp, in just 8 feet of water.
Doug and Amy were being interviewed by a camera crew from the Dr. Phil Show when Jared returned to share images with the group as to their findings.
Diving on the car, it was confirmed that the vehicle was the Nissan AWP was searching for.
With law enforcement already on scene, they took control of the area, bringing in their dive commander, with Doug taking the lead on the recovery of the vehicle.
Once on shore, Jared and Doug were able to confirm remains inside the vehicle.
A full autopsy will need to be conducted before confirmation can be made that Jed has been brought home.
Our thoughts and prayers go out to Jed's family during this difficult time.

CASE DETAILS
On Monday, January 22, 2018, shortly before 7:00 a.m., 16-year-old Matthew “Jed” Hall was reported missing. Through the investigation, Idaho Falls Police Investigators learned that Jed left home between the hours of 2:00 a.m. and 7:00 a.m. in a grey 2009 Nissan Versa. Jed took a 9mm handgun and various camping/survival gear. Neither Jed nor his car have been located until today.
Since his disappearance, Idaho Falls Police Investigators have made significant efforts to locate Jed but those efforts had not yet been successful.
Jed left a note stating that he intended to attempt suicide.
While it is possible that he did so, no further knowledge of this will be known until after the police complete their investigation.
When Jed left he took various survival and camping gear with him, broke into the school, leaving $1,000 in a locker of a good friend.
