Headed out to a backcountry river that opens early every year to try and find some open water. Short walk in, quiet spot, figured it’d be a pretty straightforward day.

Spent some time on the water, talked a bit about the books that shaped how I look at being out here—Hatchet, Brian’s Winter, and To Build a Fire. Stuff that sticks with you whether you realize it or not.

Made my way back to camp, gathered some wood, got a fire going and started getting dinner ready…

…and then locked my keys in the truck. With the heat on. And Case inside or was Case to blame lol.

So yeah… had to figure that out, bushcraft break in lol
