I’ve just received the brand new Velvet Eyeliners from Mature Beauty, and I was incredibly grateful when Gaby kindly sent them over for me to try.
I actually spoke with Gaby personally about the launch, and it was lovely to hear the passion behind the brand. If you’ve watched her YouTube channel, you’ll probably know exactly what I mean when I say she comes across as genuinely warm, friendly and authentic. That’s certainly the impression I’ve always had of her.
Mature Beauty is a brand created specifically with women over 40 in mind. Rather than focusing on hiding age, the brand is all about celebrating it, with formulas designed to be easy to use, flattering and comfortable on mature skin.
The Velvet Eyeliners are the very first product launch from the brand. They’re described as ultra-creamy, highly pigmented pencil liners that glide on smoothly, blend easily before setting, are safe for the waterline, and include a built-in angled brush for softening and smudging the line.
My first swatches have already impressed me. These pencils feel exceptionally creamy, with rich colour payoff and a texture that appears as though it will glide effortlessly across the eye area without tugging or dragging, something many of us appreciate as our skin changes over time.
The shade I’m most excited about has to be the grey. It’s become surprisingly difficult to find a good grey eyeliner these days, yet it’s such a beautiful softer alternative to black and can be incredibly flattering for everyday wear.
These are only first impressions from swatching, but so far they look extremely promising. I can’t wait to start testing them properly on the eyes and see how they perform throughout the day.
