This week I take you on a financially irresponsible journey to get my hands on a rare Elite Creature Collectibles BrainDead bust by Akihito Ikeda. What started as a one-off horror cosplay special effects makeup that debuted at Monsterpalooza 2016 quickly caught the attention of the crowd and founder of Elite Creature Collectibles, Steve Wang.

Akihito is a ridiculously talented character designer and sculptor. Who’s work you’ve seen in feature films like Tim Burton’s visually stunning take on Alice in Wonderland, Michael Bay’s soulless reimagining of the Transformers, Tarantino’s underrated exploitation horror film Death Proof, and Deadpool 2.
