On 7th & 8th November, 5–9pm, Bradford’s City Centre was transformed by a collection of dazzling light installations and performances by local, national and international artists as we explore the colour of light.
In collaboration with Bradford2025, BD: is LIT invites you to see Bradford in a new light and rediscover your city. From large scale installations to theatre and awe-inspiring light and sound artwork, there’s something for everyone and it's absolutely free.✈️🏞️
📍 In This Video:
0:00 See City Hall transformed into a living tapestry. Threads of light,
colour, and rhythm intertwine across the building’s surface,
echoing Bradford’s textile legacy. The result is a hypnotic
celebration of creativity, craft, and the city’s industrial heart.
A world premiere for BD: is LIT.
6:00 Monolith by Urban SpY
Monolith explores humanity’s shifting relationship with data and technology in a monumental sculptural form. Through sound, light, and interactive sensors, it questions how
surveillance and information shape identity in a digital age,
and invites audiences to confront what it means to be human in a world of constant observation.
11:00 Rever by Outpoint Studio
Tyrell Street Square
Rever is a hypnotic three-minute journey through light, sound, and the subconscious. A cascading waterfall of colour and music draws you into shifting dreamscapes, blurring the line between
waking and imagination.
12:10 End Over End by Studio Vertigo
The slinky is a familiar toy to most people. Originally the spring was made of metal, but for the last 40 years it is often remembered in its rainbow plastic form. This giant version by Studio Vertigo is nostalgic and surreal, playfully transforming buildings and rooftops into a virtual playground.
15:00 See hundreds of luminous butterflies shimmer among the trees in Norfolk Gardens. Inspired by the iridescent blue morpho of the Amazon, this handmade work celebrates biodiversity,
transformation, and the delicate interconnectedness of the natural world.
15:00 Phenix by Julien Menzel
A towering ten-metre phoenix rises in light and flame, embodying hope, strength, and rebirth. Inspired by endangered bird species and radiating colour and movement.
Whether you're planning your trip or just love to travel, this vlog is for you!
