Throughout all my siren filming, only 75% of visits were successful! Yes, that's one in four visit failures, when the siren did not activate at the usual testing time of 10AM on Monday morning!

Why did this fail to sound? Here we are relying on technology that's many years old. Someone said the siren was struck by lightning, however, I believe that's just a story as the siren was working fine in 2017 (so I hear) and they wouldn't have spent any money replacing equipment that had been damaged by lightning. Probably either a telephone cable fault, voltage supply failure, something like that. We will never know!
