No, it's not the infamous "Bozo No-No" - here's a promo for Bozo's Circus in which everybody's favorite clown (Bob Bell) poses a riddle to Cooky (Roy Brown) while also asking who pulls in the boys and girls with fun, games, cartoons and the like, every weekday starting at 12pm.

Following this is a bonus which immediately followed this promo as shown: a look at the weekday kids' schedule (voiceover by Len Johnson), starting with Star Blazers at 6:30am, Ray Rayner at 7am, The Groovy Goolies (as they spell it, not the official "Groovie Goolies") at 8am and 2:30pm, Bozo ("Chicago's longest-running children's program") at 12 Noon, a whole hour of Bugs Bunny at 3pm, The Flintstones at 4pm, and Gilligan's Island at 4:30pm. Ah, those were the days for a kid in the Chicagoland area. (Although frankly, I preferred Tom & Jerry, Woody Woodpecker, Popeye and the Banana Splits over most of the lineup here.)

(TECHNICAL CG NOTE: Notice the new type fonts, different sizes and weights of the Helvetica family, likely from TeleMation's Compositor I CG graphics system, in the laying out of this schedule; this replaced the earlier Chiron fonts in use at the station since at least 1975.)

"Cooky, what is the only four-letter word that's spelled the same forwards and backwards, right-side up or upside down?"

This aired on local Chicago TV on Monday, December 3rd 1979 during the 6:30am to 7:00am timeframe.

About The Museum of Classic Chicago Television:

The MCCTv (FuzzyMemoriesTV) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit whose primary mission is the preservation and display of off-air, early home videotape recordings (70s to early 80s, mostly) recorded off of TV (in Chicago or other cities now too); things which would likely be lost if not sought out and preserved digitally. If you have any old 1970s videotapes recorded off of TV please email: tapes@fuzzy.tv Even though (mostly) short clips are displayed here, we preserve the entire broadcasts in our archives - the complete programs with breaks (or however much is present on the tape), for historical preservation. For information on how to help in our mission, to donate or lend tapes to be converted to digital, please e-mail tapes@fuzzy.tv Thank you for your help!
