In this video I will demonstrate the Egyptian style bow drill. I will use a piece of hemlock and make my spindle and board from the same piece. The berring block I use green hemlock and the cordage is jute. This method is best used when less than perfect cordage is on hand because it reduces friction on the cord. Yes we do cook some bacon for lunch and finish the bench at camp.
