For years I’ve wanted to try this.
Friction fire with a bow drill is a well-known primitive skill but I’ve always wanted to know if I could actually use ice as the handhold? I’ve seen a few others do this over the last decade but not a ton. Now is the time to try it!!
Would it melt too fast?
Would it grip?
Would it even get close to creating an ember?
In this video I test it for real and after years of curiosity, I finally got an ember.
Primitive skills for me are about experimentation and fun. I like the challenge and growth that comes from it. Give this a shot and let me know if you figure it out!
