We're using Charlestown State Park in Indiana as our base camp for a week of Louisville exploration — and this first stretch packs in a lot. We fix an annoying blinker camera trigger on the Lineage, explore the campground and Trail 5, take the Single Barrel tour at Angel's Envy Distillery on historic Whiskey Row, have dinner at Bob Dylan's The Last Refuge restaurant, and then ride our e-bikes out to hike through the ruins of Rose Island — a 1920s amusement park destroyed by the 1937 Ohio River flood and now a surreal, history-rich trail inside the state park.
