First, I make sure the base of the mug is level using a large sanding disc (400 grit). This will stop it from wobbling on a flat surface.

Then I use successively finer grades of flexible sanding pads (100, 200, 400, then 800 grit) to smooth the bottom for a soft, polished feel.

Then I gently caress them, to make sure they're ready for their new role as therapy/support mugs for those affected by this misunderstood condition.
