Welcome to Makgadikgadi Pan in northeastern Botswana in Africa, one of the largest salt flats in the world. Recent DNA studies suggest that this region was once the fertile heart of human evolution, where modern Homo sapiens first began to emerge 200,000 years ago.

Join me on a journey through time as we explore Kubu Island, once part of a vast prehistoric lake, and imagine the lives of early humans who thrived in this region for over 70,000 years. Discover the legacy of the San people, direct descendants of these ancient Homo sapiens, who still preserve the cultural traditions of our earliest ancestors.

Through their rock art and way of life, the San provide us a glimpse into humanity's shared past, reminding us that no matter where we come from, we all share a common origin. Let's revisit the place where it all began, and feel the profound connection to the past that continues to shape our journey today.
