Boston Dynamics has unveiled a production-ready version of its all-electric Atlas humanoid robot, designed for real industrial work inside factories and warehouses.
Standing 6’2” tall, weighing 198 lbs, and featuring 56 degrees of freedom, Atlas is built for strength, flexibility, and precision. It can lift up to 110 lbs, making it ideal for repetitive, physically demanding tasks like parts handling and material movement.
Atlas uses human-scale hands with tactile sensing, operates in temperatures from −4 to 104°F, and includes 360-degree vision to safely work around people. Through a partnership with Google DeepMind, Atlas can learn new tasks in under a day and share skills across a fleet.
Initial deployments will begin with Hyundai, with plans to scale production to tens of thousands of units over the coming years.
