Amtrak Tour Stop No. 5: Join in on the Congress for the New Urbanism (CNU33 New England) cycle network tour in Boston and Cambridge, featuring tour leaders Ben Katz and Lucy Gibson with Toole Design Group, Chris Dempsey with Speck Dempsey, and local advocates Jeff Rosenblum and Peter Cheung. Featured in this tour is a healthy combination of quick-build protected bike lanes, some sketchy painted bike lanes, and a handful of beautiful, complete street rebuilds with permanent protected and separated cycleways appropriate for all ages and abilities.

As mentioned earlier, this is Tour Stop No. Five on the Summer 2025 Active Towns Amtrak Tour of North America.

Hi Everyone! My name is John Simmerman, and I’m a health promotion and public health professional with over 35 years of experience. Over the years, my area of concentration has evolved into a specialization in how the built environment influences human behavior related to active living and especially active mobility.
