Founded in 2009, the Boston Arts Academy Spirituals Ensemble Repertoire focuses on the music of the African diaspora, including African American spirituals. In 2016, the Spirituals Ensemble was selected for a GRAMMY Signature Schools Enterprise Award. Directed by Michael Bradley, these talented high schoolers perform all around Boston and at major civic events. To them, the word ‘ensemble’ means family, and the strong bond between each member of the Boston Arts Academy shines through in every note sung.
