Provisional Titles:Boruto’s MISCALCULATION Is Leading To Konoha’s DESTRUCTION
**Naruto is making a massive return to New York Comic Con in October 2026, eleven years after series creator Masashi Kishimoto appeared at the convention in 2015. This time, VIZ Media and Shueisha are preparing a major Naruto event featuring the Japanese voice actors for Naruto and Sasuke, new announcements, additional promotion for the Naruto Card Game, and most importantly, news surrounding multiple anime projects.
But does this actually mean the Boruto anime is finally coming back?
This video breaks down why the biggest announcement may instead be the long awaited four Naruto anniversary episodes originally scheduled for 2023. Those episodes were postponed shortly before their planned release, and the Naruto anime production pipeline underwent major changes afterward. With the episodes reportedly completed and Naruto's birthday falling during New York Comic Con, the timing could finally be right for their return.
There is also the mystery surrounding the wording of anime projects being plural. Could another Naruto anime project already be entering development? Could a new Naruto movie eventually arrive in time for the manga's 30th anniversary in 2029? And is there any possibility that Boruto receives an early teaser before its anime celebrates its 10th anniversary in April 2027?
Boruto fans should also keep an eye on Jump Festa 2027 in December. Depending on the stage Boruto receives, that event could provide a better opportunity for news about the anime's eventual return.
Naruto becoming active again is important for the entire franchise. New animation, international events, the card game, future anniversary projects, and renewed promotion can create momentum that eventually benefits Boruto as well.
New York Comic Con could be the beginning of something much bigger.
