Because the Volcano gets grenade damage boosts, some have asked to see it with Axton.
The Volcano is the legendary Maliwan sniper. It drops most commonly from The Warrior and Handsome Sorceror.
Basically- it is just a Maliwan Snider (Maliwan barrel variant) that can only come in fire, with a lower base damage and higher splash damage. In practice, this works out to it always being less effective in total damage than the Snider is. Because of this, there is no real reason to use the Volcano at all on characters that cannot boost grenade damage.
It's hard to say the weapon "sucks" when it is still a solid weapon more than capable of killing flesh enemies in Borderlands 2, but it does suck in the fact that it is flat inferior to the Snider for most characters, and still isn't great with Axton.
