The Stinkpot is a unique Jakobs assault rifle that is available in the first campaign DLC for Borderlands 2- Captain Scarlett and her Pirate's Booty. It is the first elemental Jakobs weapon that was introduced in Borderlands 2.
Without the patch, the weapon is underpowered because it cannot get crits and does not receive grenade damage boosts. The weapon fires very quickly, but recoil management can be a problem when firing at a high rate.
The community patch adds a significant amount of base damage, but also allows the gun to get grenade damage boosts. This makes the weapon excel with Axton. It also fixes what seems to be a glaring oversight for a weapon that literally fires grenades.
While the weapon is certainly not a top tier assault rifle or weapon with the community patch, it does become viable, which is a huge improvement over what it was. This weapon definitely no longer sucks.
