London Book Haul Excuses 3 to 9.

Excuse 3: I didn’t choose the book it chose me. So I had to buy it.
Sara Stridsberg’s The Gravity of Love bought in Daunt’s, Cheapside.
Excuse 4: Because I wanted to be unpredictable? (But isn’t buying a book predictable Maria )
Aminatta Forna’s Happiness bought in Blackwells (not part of 3 for 2!)
Excuse 5: Because stone tablets are too heavy for luggage allowance purposes but paperbacks are fine!
The Penguin Edition of The Epic of Gilgamesh – Translated by Andrew George – Bought in The British Museum Bookshop.
Excuse 6: The one everybody uses - Booktube and Booktwitter made me do it.
Andrew Holleran’s Dancer from the Dance bought at Gay is the Word.
Excuse 7: If you finish one book an author wrote you simply must by another book written by them.
Dan Simmon’s Song of Kali bought in SKOOB’s bookshop
Excuse 8: I saw it in another bookshop and wanted it and so if i see it in a second bookshop I was obviously meant to have it - plus the other bookshop gives you matching bookmarks!
Rose Allantini’s Despised and Rejected.
Excuse 9: I was dared to read this after dark – so I need to own it during the hours of night.
Christopher Gold’s Dead Ringers bought in Forbidden Planet.
Excuse 10. Every Self-respecting reader of Horror needs to know what Folk Horror is.
Lucie McKnight Hardy’s Water Shall Refuse Them.
