in line with world mental health day 2020, I figured it would be a good time to curate a list of books specifically on mental health, and to share the books that have really helped me on my mental health journey (raising awareness, being seen, represented, how to ask for help).
(You can read more on this year's topic here: https://www.who.int/campaigns/world-mental-health-day)
this year's mental health day theme is investment in mental health, and given the whole pandemic situation, there has been a lot of emphasis on access to mental health resources and help. this is a super important topic to raise awareness of in Singapore, as we are only beginning to start conversations about mental health in public domains, and to feel more confident and open to learning and seeking help when needed.
personally, I have been very fortunate to have friends and institutions who have been helpful in supporting my mental health journey. even if you are not in a space where loved ones can provide that support for you, I hope you can find solace and understanding within the books in this list.
the books mentioned in this list + others can be found here (might be updated time to time): tinyurl.com/nnmentalhealthbooks
