Tillys Shelf | Bookish Breakfast 1: Austen, Hamlet, Harry Potter, Migration and a Mini-Haul @tillysshelf | Uploaded August 2019 | Updated October 2024, 15 hours ago.
Bookish Breakfast is what I've decided to call it when I just sit down and talk about books with a morning cup of tea. No planning other than a list of titles, no editing, no camera set up, just pure rambling. These won't normally be so long, I just had a surprisingly bookish week.
Books, films and places mentioned:
Unequal Affections by Lara S Ormiston (2014)
Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen (1813)
Sanditon by Jane Austen (1817) adapted on ITV by Andrew Davies starring Rose Williams (2019)
Tess of the D'Urbervilles by Thomas Hardy (1891) adapted on BBC starring Gemma Arterton (2009)
Hamlet by William Shakespeare performed by the RSC filmed by the BBC starring David Tennant (2009)
Light In August by William Faulkner (1932)
The Lightless Sky by Gulwali Passarlay with Nadene Ghouri (2015)
National Geographic 08.2019 World on the Move, picture shown by John Stanmeyer, articles by Paul Salopek, Cynthia Gorney and more
Harry Potter World actually called Warner Brothers Studio Tour in Leavesden visited 24.08.19
Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix by JK Rowling (2003)
Eltham Palace run by English Heritage visited 25.08.19
Humanitarian Negotiations Revealed edited by Magone, Neuman and Weissman (2011)
War Doctor by David Nott (2019)
Death Comes to Pemberley by PD James (2011)
The Upanishads and a book on the Middle Ages I don't have here to check.
Thank you for watching.
