BOOK REVIEW: The Ruthless Elimination of Hurry by John Mark Comer

Audience: Adult

My Summary: This book describes how our culture has become one of relentless progress, growth, and hurry. It explains that living life as Jesus tells us to in His word, the Bible, can lead to connection to God rather than our need for doing and achieving.

Positives

Most of the book focused on living life with Jesus. When we let Him carry the weight of life and don't worry about all the extra stuff the world tries to put on our shoulders, we can actually live instead of trying to run as fast as we can to keep up with everyone else.

Much of the book emphasizes that a connection to God is essential for life.

Negative

The last few chapters began to focus on all the actions we can do to achieve less hurry and more connection to God, and that contradicts the idea that Jesus is the connection and we can't do enough to get closer to God.

Overall: The beginning was on point, but the end lost focus
