(or: why Black Women don’t owe us non-Black people any emotional labor)

My rusty English pronunciation, my eyelashes running away from my eyes and into my eyeballs, and the word “sixth” tried hard, but my love for Angela Davis PREVAILED.

In this video, I attempt to organize my ramblings into something halfway coherent to explain why this is one of my favorite books ever, why is it so relevant in the current political climate, and why Black women are under no obligation to educate non-Black people - and demanding them to do so is also incredibly violent.

COVID-19: Just as in the USA, black and impoverished people were disproportionately affected by the COVID crisis in Brazil. UNEAFRO is an organization dedicated to helping students from Favelas and marginalized communities with their studies and college prep, but with the schools closed, they have rerouted their efforts to make sure vulnerable families receive food, basic hygiene kits, and cover rent and basic utilities. Because of the currency exchange rate, 20 USD is enough to feed a family of 4 for a month. If you can, consider donating at:
