The work of New Yorker Eric Fischl , the "bad boy" of American art, depicts psycho-sexual dreams that reveal the darker side of American suburban life. French artist Pierre Bonnard attracted great popularity and admiration for his scenes celebrating bourgeois domestic life.
Following in his fellow artist's footsteps, Fischl travels to Paris and Cannes, where he discovers that Bonnard's work became an intensely personal record of a troubled and emotionally tangled relationship and a life full of dark secrets.
