Bolivian authorities confiscated 11,000 illegally transported turtle eggs in northern Bolivia, officials said.
The haul occurred at midnight in the Amazonian city of Trinidad during a routine control operation by the forestry police.
Officers became suspicious of a vehicle parked by the roadside and, upon inspection, discovered several black plastic bags filled with the turtle eggs inside.
During the operation, a 23-year-old woman was arrested and is now facing charges related to the illegal possession and transportation of wildlife. - Report from Reuters
