PoliceActivity | Bodycam Captures Rescue of Toddler Trapped inside PVC Pipe @PoliceActivity | Uploaded August 2024 | Updated October 2024, 5 days ago.

Moundridge, Kansas — On Sunday, July 28th, 2024, at approximately 1:59 p.m., the Moundridge Police Department, along with Moundridge EMS and Moundridge Fire, responded to a report of a child needing assistance. Upon arrival, the child was found to be trapped underground inside a PVC pipe. The pipe was approximately 12 inches in diameter and 10-12 feet deep. The child, a 14 month old named Bentley, appeared to be uninjured and was upright in the bottom of the pipe. Emergency crews, including many dedicated first responders, acted swiftly and worked diligently for approximately 15-20 minutes to safely recover the child. At one point Officer Ronnie Wagner constructed a makeshift "catch pole" using a smaller PVC pipe and rope. This creative solution was instrumental in lifting the child safely from the pipe. The child, while understandably shaken, was unharmed and safe. The family is unsure what the pipe is for. They’re just thankful for the quick-thinking team of first responders that saved their son.
