Written in 1930 and originally conceived for Gertrude Lawrence, here is the timeless jazz standard, Body and Soul. Originally from the musical production 'Three's A Crowd,' it took 4 people to come up with this gem, but what a great song it is. Credit should be give to Walter Paul, as well, who did this fabulous stock arrangement.
An interesting thing to point out is the lyrics. Somewhere along the line the lyrics were changed, which happened occasionally back then (Blue Moon went through 3 different sets of lyrics!). These are the original lyrics.
Here is Matt Tolentino and his Singapore Slingers orchestra, live at the Pocket Sandwich Theatre in Dallas, TX, filmed at their Christmas concert in 2014. A great concert piece, as well as a fabulous dance arrangement, we hope you'll enjoy it!
