Did not chart in Billboard, but released as a single in May 1966. Fantastic remake of the #2 R&B (#15 Hot 100) hit for the Chantels from 1958. As Robert John, this singer had a #1 hit with "Sad Eyes" in 1979, as well as other chart singles from the late '60's through to the 1980's. Other remakes of "Maybe" include: #91 Hot 100 for the Shangri-Las in 1964, bubbled under the Hot 100 at #110 for Janis Joplin in 1970 and #29 Hot 100 for the Three Degrees in 1970 (#4 R&B).
