During the early years of World War Two, Japanese expansion in South East Asia caused panic to many countries. In New Zealand in particular, there was some panic as the country was short on weapons and armoured fighting vehicles. Bob Semple, a Politician in New Zealand came up with the idea of using D8 Caterpillar Tractors for the base of a tank. What he created would come to be known as the Bob Semple Tank, which some consider to be the worst tank ever created.
