Measuring the curve of the earth in my backyard by measuring the drop in horizontal over a 2500 foot lake. This is a qualitative vs a quantitative measurement. To have the accuracy to calculate the radius of the earth in this manner would require a 3 mile plus observation. Stand by...lol
