Tennessee Governor Bill Lee and Nashville's airport authority are moving to rename BNA the "Dolly Parton International Airport," with the proposal headed to a board meeting on September 17th, 2026. The airport's own naming policy requires a two-year waiting period after death — a hurdle this plan will have to clear. A Change.org petition on the rename has surged past 100,000 signatures since Parton's death on August 25th, 2026.
