This is a complicated one to follow, and I'm not great at explaining, but this mod is how to use the intermediate shaft of an Adventure/Enduro transmission for the low range 1st gear, keep gears #2-5, and install an overdrive 6th gear from the standard non enduro transmission or R1150RS transmission. This yields a low first gear for off road, and a nice overdrive for fuel economy and comfort for long range riding when in 6th gear. This is essentially a BMW R1150GS adventure hybrid transmission. This is not an easy mod, but can be done with enough profanity (thank you Halfthrottle) and patience.
