The Problem
A specialist tool is required in order to remove the auxiliary belt.
The serpentine auxiliary belt is located in a very narrow & limited access section of the engine bay, making the belt very difficult to change without stripping major components from the engine. The belt is due to be changed every 60,000 miles (but should be replaced sooner if showing any signs of age or cracking). Or it may need to be removed to service components such as the supercharger, air conditioning compressor, water pump or alternator.
The solution up until now was to purchase one of the several tools available online, however they can either be very costly or come with many complicated components, or pins that are difficult to locate in to the tensioner, making changing the belt more difficult than it needs to be.
The Solution
Our tool can be used to easily release & replace the auxiliary belt
Our kit is simple to use, with the main changing tool being custom manufactured at the correct angles & comes with a soft, cushioned handle for ease of use. The tool is precision machined to the perfect shape to marry up to the tensioner, allowing you to push against the broadest section of the tensioner to release, rather than trying to locate and push against the tensioner in the two small holes in the tensioner. Our tool is manufactured from Steel and is Bright Zinc plated, made in the UK for a lifetime guarantee.
The kit also comes with a tensioner pin retaining tool, this is basically a correctly sized screwdriver angled to the correct shape for easy retaning of the tensioner pin. A lot of kits on the market come with a small Allen key or pin, which can be very fiddley and tricky to push in. Our tool as it is the perfect shape, long and with a handle it makes install in the tensioner pin far easier.
